Sheepfold

In rough hill pasture, on a terrace of the NW-facing slope of Droppa Mountain. A circular area (10.8m E-W; 10.6m N-S) defined by the remains of a drystone wall (T c. 0.85m H 0.8m) S-SE. The wall incorporates a long horizontally set boulder at S, a smaller boulder at N and three boulders set close together ENE-SE. The enclosing wall SSW-N is cut (D 0.8m) into the upslope at NW. There is a possible entrance at SE where a break in the wall occurs. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Kerry.
