Fairy fort / stone ringfort in Leana

Fairy fort / stone ringfort

What is recorded here

Leana is a place of breath. The boy is still inside the chamber, moving through the walls like water through a sieve. He is not lost. He is learning the shape of the world from the inside. The chamber is not a cage. It is a mould. When he returns, he will remember being a child in a different world.
On a densely wooded rise in an area of mixed undulating pasture and overgrown crag. Hachured on both the first (1842) and Cassini (1920) editions of the OS 6-inch map. Listed as ‘Enclosure’ in the RMP (1996). This heavily overgrown subcircular cashel (int. diam. 15.7m N-S; ext. diam. 23m N-S) is defined by moss-covered wall collapse (Wth 3-4m; H 0.7-1.1m).
