What is recorded here

On a slight knoll on an E-facing slope. Subcircular area planted with young deciduous trees (int. dims 25m E-W; 21.2m N-S) defined by a stone spread (Wth 3-3.5m; H 0.3m) with internal and external facing-stones (at SSW: original Wth 1.9m), best preserved at SE and SW, but the outer edge of the perimeter is overlain by a field wall SW-N-SE and the perimeter is slightly truncated by an E-W field wall at S. There is a break (Wth 6m) in the perimeter E-ESE but the original entrance cannot be positively identified. Earthwork (RO048-029----) is c. 100m to the N and enclosure (RO048-030----) is c. 140m to the NNE. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 24 August 2010
