Blackthorn chokes the shallow stone ring in Cahermacrusheen, hiding a circular cashel that has watched rough pasture since before human memory. The stones lie low enough for livestock to tread across, yet their unbroken curve suggests they marked a boundary people respected. Maybe a family kept goats inside or buried a jar of coins beneath the grass. The forking paths claim the fort belongs to fairies now, but the shape still answers the hand that laid it.

On level ground on a gentle NW-slope in an area of rough pasture and outcropping limestone. Hachured on the 1842 and 1920 eds. of the OS 6-inch map. Listed as 'Enclosure' in the RMP (1996). This circular cashel (int. diam. 19m NW-SE; ext. diam. 25.7m NW-SE) is defined by a stone spread (Wth 3.3-3.5m; int. H 0.2-0.4m; ext. H 0.2-0.4m). It is heavily overgrown with blackthorn and is surrounded by a later drystone wall (H 0.4-1m) or the remnants of it. There is a house site (CL008-027002-) in the centre of the interior.
