Enclosure in Cahermaclanchy

On level ground, in rough pasture and karstic limestone, within an extensive multiperiod field system (CL008-109001-). Partly indicated on the 1897 OS 25-inch plan and the 1920 ed. of the OS 6-inch map. This subcircular enclosure (int. diam. 25.8m NE-SW) is defined at NNE-SW by a low collapsed and grass-covered wall (Wth 1.5-3m; max. int. H 0.75m; ext. H 0.25-1.25m) with a crude limestone outer wall-face (two/three courses high) visible at NNE and SE. There are two mounds of rubble along the line of the perimeter at W and NW.
