What is recorded here

A strange circular field in Tullig, thirty-three metres across, holds a grassy centre and a low earthen bank. People called it a fairy fort, perhaps because the gap in the neck and the hidden ditch made it feel like a chamber rather than a farm boundary. It stands beside another ringfort, as if two houses had been built for neighbours who no longer speak.

In tillage, on NNW-facing slope. Circular area (33m N-S; 32m E-W) defined by earthen bank (int. H 1.5m); external fosse (D c. 1.1m) survives to SE, S and SW. Gap (Wth 5.3m) in bank to NE. Field fence concentric to bank to W; E-W field fence abuts outer bank face to N. Interior grass-covered. Ringfort (CO051-149----) lies c. 100m to W in adjoining field.
