What is recorded here

Fairy forts are not forts at all. They are ordinary human rings from before writing, misnamed because people stopped believing the builders were worth remembering. Templeusque is one of them now, erased under pasture, visible only in an old survey line. What remains is the shape of a room large enough to hold a life, and the admission that we forgot it.
