Fairy fort in Tattyreagh North, County Monaghan: an earthen ringfort on a SW-facing slope, drawn as a circular embanked enclosure about 30 to 35m across and written as a fort in gothic lettering on the 1834 OS 6-inch map. In 1968 it measured about 42m north-south and 35m east-west, with a fosse running NNE to ENE that thinned to a low scarp toward the SSW and no entrance feature noted. Since then furze has swallowed it whole, so the fort exists now more in measurement and map ink than in visible earth.

Situated on a SW-facing slope. It is depicted as a circular embanked enclosure (ext. diam. c. 30-35m) and described as a ‘fort’ in gothic lettering only on the 1834 edition of the OS 6-inch map. It was described In 1968 as a subcircular enclosure (diam. c. 42m N-S; c. 35m E-W) that sloped down to the S defined by a fosse (at NE: Wth of top 3m; Wth of base 1.8m; int. D 1.45m; ext. D 1.1m) NNE-ENE that was reduced to a low scarp at SSW. No entrance feature was noted. It has become completely overgrown with furze since 1968 (OSAP).
