What is recorded here
Fairy forts are earthen rings that may have been ordinary homes, farms or meeting places before becoming magical in memory. This is one of them in Raheen, County Kilkenny. People may have lived there, tended fields or gathered at its edge, while later tales turned the forgotten house into a fairy stronghold.
