Oldcourt in County Kilkenny, Ireland, holds an unclassified castle whose identity has been withheld from public view. The absence of a name does not diminish the castle; it removes the usual guardrail of certainty and forces attention onto the stones themselves. Whatever it is, it is still standing inside the boundary of the county, waiting to be recognised.
