Situated in a marshy area. A subcircular raised area (max. diam. c. 64m E-W) defined by a bank (Wth c. 1.9m, int. H c. 0.9m, ext. H c. 1.5m) at SW and W, elsewhere by a scarp. External fosse at NE, E and S. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Laois' (Dublin Stationery Office, 1995) compiled by P.
