What is recorded here

On a low ridge in pasture. A raised oval area (c. 52m NE-SW; c. 40m NW-SE) enclosed from SSW-N-NNE by a partially denuded, low bank of earth and stone (Wth 1.8m; H 0.4m). From NNE-E-SE the defining element is a scarp (H 1.4m). From SE-S-SSW the enclosing element and a portion of the interior have been levelled. At the base of the bank from W-NW-N there is an intervening fosse (Wth 3m; D 0.15m) and an outer bank (Wth 1.7m; H 0.45m). A wide berm (Wth 4m; H 0.4m) is visible at the base of the scarp from NE-E-ESE. A break (Wth 2m) in the bank at N may mark the original entrance. Within the interior at E is an area of exposed outcropping rock. Compiled by: Patrick F. O'Donovan Date of upload: 16 January 2012
