Marianne and the fairies fought over Lisballyhay, and Marianne lost. She raged at the sky, broke every pot in her kitchen, and left the village in a black fury. The circular earthwork disappeared beneath the plough, but the fairies kept the hill. They still dance on the hidden ridge when rain approaches, unfazed by the woman who raged against them.

In tillage, on break in SSW-facing slope. Depicted as hachured circular enclosure (diam. c. 23m) on 1842 OS 6-inch map. Levelled; no visible surface trace.
