Lavagh holds a true fairy fort, a circular grassy ring where human hands shaped the earth long before local lore claimed it for sprites. The outer bank has vanished, but the inner fence and shallow ditch remain visible on the slight rise, marking a small defended place rather than an imaginary one. People may have lived, argued, hidden or worshipped there; the fairies arrived later, as they do everywhere humanity stops naming its own memories.

Situated on a slight rise in a low-lying landscape. This is a grass and scrub-covered circular area (diam. 27.3m NNW-SSE) defined by a flat-bottomed fosse (Wth of top 5.8-6.7m; Wth of base 4-4.5m; int. D 0.7-0.8m; ext. D 0.4-0.5m) and an outer bank (Wth of base 5.5-6.5m; ext. H 0.8-1.2m) which is incorporated into a field bank at W (max. ext. diam. 49m N-S). An inner bank was present in the 1945 (OSFM) when an entrance was also present at NE, but the outer bank had been removed by 1995 (OSAP).
