What is recorded here

Knocknageeha South held a thirty-metre earthen ring on a gentle slope, visible in 1842 maps but levelled around 1977. It was a human fort misread as fairy work, yet the earth still bumps south and west while grass grows differently along the vanished eastern bank. The field swallowed the wall, but it never erased the shape entirely.

In pasture, on gentle SE-facing slope. Depicted as hachured circular enclosure (diam. c. 30m) on 1842 and 1904 OS 6-inch maps; as hachured circular raised area with section of bank remaining to NE on 1937 OS 6-inch map. According to local information, levelled c. 1977. Circular area (diam. c. 35m) defined by low rise to S and W; by differential growth pattern to E on line of bank. Probably single-ramparted fort (diam. c. 28yd) recorded by Bowman (1934, 277) with about one-sixth of circuit remaining (H c. 3ft).
