What is recorded here

Knockavanny holds a sixty-metre circular rath on a grassy rise, marked by two banks, a shallow ditch and an eastern entrance gap. A smaller annex touches its western edge while field walls cut through the southern and northern slopes. The earth still shapes the boundary even though human hands have disturbed parts of the circle.

On a rise in rolling grassland. Circular rath (D 60m), in fair condition, defined by two banks and an intervening fosse. The inner bank is visible intermittently but for the most part a scarp forms the enclosing element. The outer bank is present only at W. There is an entrance gap at E. A field wall cuts the monument at SW and NW. Abutting the monument at W is a subcircular annexe (E-W 39m) defined by a scarp with the remains of a bank visible intermittently.
