What is recorded here

Kilquain is a lost ringfort where a field boundary cut through ancient stone, leaving only a faint rise on the hillside. The fort is no longer visible, but the land still holds the shape of human life. What was built there has returned to soil, memory and story.

On the SE-facing slope of a hillock overlooking bogland. Marked on the 1838 edition of the OS 6-inch map as a circular enclosure (diam. c. 30m); on the 1944-5 revision a NW-SE running field boundary clipped it at NE.
