Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Killeen (granard By.) stands on a steep NE-facing shelf in County Longford, Ireland. Its twenty-five metre circle still holds a low earth bank, a sharp scarp and a shallow outer ditch, though the true entrance has vanished. People may have lived inside that small round world before forgetting how to enter it.

On a shelf of level ground on a steep NE-facing slope. A raised circular area (diam. c. 25m) enclosed from SW-W-NW by a low bank of earth and stone (Wth 2.5m; H 0.5m) and defined from NNW-N-ESE by a scarp (H 1.6m). Elsewhere it is skirted by an E-W field boundary. A shallow, external fosse (Wth 4.1m; D 0.2m) survives from SW-WSW-W. The original entrance is not recognisable. Compiled by: Patrick F.
