What is recorded here

Grange East held a twenty-metre earthen ring on a gentle north-facing slope before ploughing erased most of its shape. The 1842 survey still drew its circular bank, while modern aerial views recover a faint shadow of the lost fosse in the crops. Two other rings wait further west, suggesting a small cluster of dwellings rather than a single isolated home. People likely built, lived and abandoned the place long before maps existed, leaving only a slight rise and a name that credits fairies because human memory failed.
