Fairy fort in Gowlane South, County Cork: a 41.5m earthen ring, 1.62m high, with an eastern entrance and a southern gap, sitting in pasture beside a laneway that cuts its northern edge. People called it a fairy fort, perhaps because the round bank still looks like a room built for someone who does not want to be found. If it is a ringfort, it is also a warning: even ordinary fields keep rooms where human life and fantasy both circulate.

In pasture. Roughly circular area (diam. 41.5m) defined by earthen bank (H 1.62m). Entrance to E; gap in bank to S. Field fence outside and concentric to bank S->NNW. Laneway running c.
