Fairy fort in Gortavehy West is an earthen ringfort in pasture on an NE-facing slope. A 1.4m bank encloses a roughly circular raised area 35m N-S and 33m E-W, with a 4m external fosse visible as a dark band of vegetation. A 2m entrance faces ENE, and cultivation ridges still cross the interior on a NE-SW axis. A standing stone sits 7m to the south, giving the field a strange, inhabited feel.
