Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Glenwilliam

Denis Power documented the Glenwilliam ringfort in 2011, revealing a sixteen-metre circular enclosure hidden beneath rough pasture on a steep northern slope. The earthen bank rises nearly two metres externally but collapses to half a metre internally, creating a shallow bowl rather than a defensive wall. A narrow causeway cuts through the eastern bank, suggesting deliberate entry into a space now forgotten by modern agriculture. The structure preserves human intention beneath grass, waiting for patience to reveal its shape.
