What is recorded here
Fairy fort in Glenquin, County Limerick: a 28-metre circular earthwork with a one-metre outer bank, shallow outer ditch and a two-metre gap at the south-east. The interior is level but hidden under dense growth, so the fort looks less like a ruin and more like a living thing that has stopped being watched. People may have lived there, marked it, feared it or simply passed it by; the earth keeps its shape while memory thins.
In level pasture. Circular area (diam. 28m) enclosed by earthen bank (int. H 0.4m; ext. H 1m) with external fosse (Wth 1.2m; D 0.2m). Break (Wth 2.4m) in bank at SE. Interior level and covered by dense overgrowth.
