Half a metre high and thirty metres across, the ringfort in Garranmaconly still holds its shape beneath the grass. People called it a fairy fort, which means they saw more life in the stones than reason alone could explain. The entrance faces northeast, inviting rather than blocking, as if the circle were made for visiting instead of defending.

A circular area (diam c. 29m) defined by a low bank of stone and earth (Wth c. 3m, max. H c. 0.6m). Entrance at NE. Field bank (LA021-015002-) lies to E and NW.
