What is recorded here

Situated at the NW end of the summit of a NW-SE drumlin ridge. This is a raised, oval grass and scrub-covered area (dims 39.2m NW-SE; 29.4m NE-SW) defined by an overgrown earthen bank (Wth 5-6.5m; int. H 0.3-0.5m; ext. H 2.4-2.6m) separated by a fosse (Wth of top 6.5; Wth of base 1.5m; ext. D 0.9m at N to 1.7m at S) from an outer earthen and overgrown bank (Wth 4-4.6m; ext. H 1.5-1.7m). The original entrance is not identified (ext. dim. 51m N-S). The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Monaghan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1986).
