Fairy fort in Cowpark, County Limerick: a broken earthen ring, thirty metres wide when whole, now cut back by field lines until only a shallow scarped edge remains. It is the kind of place where people once drew a circle in soil and believed the circle would hold. Cows walk through what humans fenced, and that is not dismissal but transformation. The fort still occupies the corner of the field, visible in the slope and the memory of shape.

In gently undulating pasture, occupying SW corner of field with small paddock area immediately to S. Monument, depicted on 1841 OS 6-inch map as embanked circular enclosure (diam. c. 30m), has been truncated at W and S ends by field boundaries. Enclosing element survives NW->SE as uneven and intermittent scarped edge (H 0.35m; Wth 1.85m). Interior now measures 23.6m from field boundary to scarp at N, and 20.2m from field boundary to scarp at S. It slopes down unevenly to W and is under pasture.
