Cooldorragha holds a broken earthen ring where St. Michael's church now sits, its steep scarp and stone wall marking a boundary older than the building. The fort has surrendered most of its shape to pasture and prayer, yet the underground passage and ogham stone nearby suggest the land kept a hidden life beneath the fields. What was defended or hidden there has blurred into legend, leaving only the curve of the earth and the weight of forgetting.
In pasture, on break in N-facing slope. Hachured as arc on 1904 OS 6-inch map W->E within which is St. Michael's R C church (CO082-045004-). Semicircular church yard enclosed by E-W stone wall (L c. 30m) on S side and by scarp (H 2.4m) W->E. Scarp topped by stone wall (H 1.6m) of churchyard. Farm trackway runs outside scarp to N and E. St. Michael's church occupies most of interior. Man-made underground passage (CO082-045001-) with ogham stone (CO082-045002-) in field to S of site.

A fairy fort (ringfort/rath) in Cooldorragha, likely dating to the early medieval period, is associated with the nearby Church of St. Michael, suggesting a possible religious or territorial link. The site's proximity to a semicircular churchyard and stone wall indicates a long-standing cultural and spiritual significance in the landscape.
