Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Clashanimud: SE-facing slope, circular enclosure, second external bank, now levelled and invisible. What disappeared is not nothing. It is a room without walls, waiting for memory to move through it.
On SE-facing slope. Shown on 1842 OS 6-inch map as circular enclosure (diam. c. 30m) with second external bank NNE->SSW. Levelled; no visible surface trace. Cashel hill fort (CO096-034---) to NE. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 2: East and South Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1994).
