Cappanagoul holds a broken ringfort where a stream cut seven metres from the north side and a field boundary bisected the rest. Earthen banks and fosses still mark roughly thirty-one metres of deliberate shape beneath grazing grass and overgrown interior plants. The loss is not mysterious. Ownership, hunger and reuse wrote over the old line until only a scar remained. What is missing is the hand that first shaped the edge and the reason the place resisted forgetting.

In rough grazing land, on gentle E-facing slope. Circular area (diam. c. 31m) bisected by field boundary N-S; 7m of N side cut off from remainder by E-W stream. Interior enclosed by two earthen banks with intervening fosse NE->ESE; earthen bank ESE->SSE; scarp with external fosse SSE->SW; slight rise with external depression SW->WNW; deep fosse to NNW beyond stream.
