What is recorded here

Fairy fort in Ballymackea More, County Clare: a circular grass-covered enclosure, 22 metres across, bounded by an earthen bank and with no visible entrance. It sits on the south side of a slight ridge, where the land rises just enough to hold a boundary. People may have drawn a line there, excluded others, or marked a place set apart. The absence of a gate does not mean absence of intent; it may mean the boundary was never aimed at entry but at recognition.

On the S side towards the E end of a slight E-W ridge. Listed as 'enclosure' in the SMR (1992) and the RMP (1996). A circular grass-covered area (int. diam. 22m E-W; 20m N-S) defined by a grass-covered earthen bank (at E: Wth 5.4m; int. H 0.45m; ext. H 1.1m; at S: Wth 10m; int. H 0.3m; ext. H 0.65m).
