Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Ballykerwick

Fairy fort / earthen ringfort

What is recorded here

Mnemo knows the dead and the living. She can be kind or cruel depending on the choice made in her name. The chamber is a place where that truth stops being decoration. Everything written above is still true, but the chamber is where you stop pretending you understand it.
Shown on 1842 OS 6-inch map as hachured circular enclosure (diam. c. 30m). In pasture, on S-facing slope, to S of GAA pitch. Levelled; no visible surface trace. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 3: Mid Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload/revision: 14 January 2009

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
