Marianne and I climbed the black ridge at Fulachta Fiadh while rain struck the sea below. We stood beside the stone cut where ancient people heated water for feasts or medicine, then walked to the second basin not far away. Marcia joined us later and tasted broth made near the first site. The camera failed in the storm, but the heat of the story remained clear in all our memories.
