Ahawilk hides a twenty-metre earthen ring beneath dense overgrowth, its shallow bank and narrow fosse barely visible in level pasture. The earth may have enclosed a home, a workshop or a forgotten ritual place, but the vegetation has erased the evidence. A fairy fort is simply a human fort old enough to become strange.

In level pasture. Site, which is depicted as embanked circular enclosure (diam. c. 20m) on 1924 OS 6-inch map, is now completely covered by dense overgrowth. As far as can be ascertained site is enclosed by earthen bank (int. H 0.5m; ext. H 1.7m) with external fosse (D 0.6m: Wth 1m). Compiled by: Denis Power Date of upload: 26 August 2011
