Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Aglish (magunihy By.)

Fairy fort / earthen ringfort

What is recorded here

Fairy fort in Aglish, County Kerry: a possible earthen ringfort on a NE-facing slope above the Glanooragh River valley. It is not visible at ground level, though maps from 1846 and 1894 marked a circular enclosure about 40m across. The land may have worn the fort flat, or the fort may have kept itself hidden from ordinary sight.
In pasture, on a NE-facing slope, overlooking the valley of the Glanooragh River. This possible rath is not visible at ground level. It is indicated on the 1846 and 1894 OS 6-inch maps as a circular enclosure (diam. c. 40m).
