Enclosure in Knocknakilla

In forestry, on the lower N-facing slopes of Musherabeg. A circular area (c. 22m x c. 19.5m) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 3m; int. H 0.45m; ext. H 0.8m) with an external fosse (D 0.5m) at NE and SSW was identified in 1995 (Johnson 1998, 102). A drainage channel cuts the enclosure along the NW arc and the bank is low at this point. A roughly circular area (c. 5m N-S; c. 4m E-W) defined by paving stones lies immediately outside the bank and appears to cut the fosse, at SE. The enclosure could not be located in 2000.
