What is recorded here

Marked as an oval embanked, or double banked, enclosure (ext. dims c. 60m NE-SW; c. 45m NW-SE) on the 1839 ed. of the OS 6-inch map. It is situated at the crest of a SE-facing slope with a NW-SE stream in its valley c. 140m to the NE. It is not visible at ground level as the area has been extensively quarried. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wexford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1996). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload/revision: 14 February 2012
