Embanked enclosure is a fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Cartron (athlone North By., Lismaha Ed),cloonlaughnan, County Roscommon, Ireland. The circular grass-covered area measures forty-nine point six metres north-south and forty-seven metres east-west. An earth and stone bank defines the perimeter, while a complete rounded fosse surrounds the interior space. A two-metre entrance appears at the northwest, where a field bank circumscribes the monument.
On a level low-lying landscape. Circular grass-covered but poached area (diam. 49.6m N-S; 47m E-W) defined by an earth and stone bank (Wth 5.8-6.8m; int. H 0.3m at S to 0.8-1.1m generally; ext. H 0.9m at S to 1.4-2m generally) and hedge, which is incorporated into a field bank NE-S-W and forms the townland boundary with Cloonlaughnan SE-SW. There is a complete rounded fosse (Wth of top 6.7-8m; Wth of base 2.5-3.4m; D 0.5-0.6m), best preserved SSW-W and NW-NE.
