What is recorded here

Scregg held a ghost of a boundary, visible only on a forgotten map and erased by ploughs before human memory could anchor it. The land swallowed its own history, leaving no ridge, ditch or stone to argue against the silence. What remained was a coordinate, a suspicion and the certainty that some places disappear so completely they never needed naming.

A ‘possible archaeological site’ was marked at this location on a Forest Service map, and was reported destroyed by agriculture (SMR file). There are no details on the nature of the possible monument. The location was inspected in 1999, and no evidence of an archaeological monument was found.
