Dungooly is a mound hidden inside a forgotten ringfort in County Louth. Four banks radiated from it like spokes on a wheel, dividing the fort into quadrants before people levelled the whole arrangement away. What was placed at the centre, and who walked the four paths around it, has gone quiet again under the grass.

During a site inspection (28 July 1965) the interior of ringfort (LH003-004001-) was noted to be divided into quadrants by four slight banks radiating from a slight central mound. These have since been levelled. Compiled by: Claire Breen Date of upload: 9 November 2011
