Ducavan is a man-made underground passage inside a ringfort in County Louth, Ireland. An L-shaped depression runs from the hut site to the southern bank, suggesting a collapsed tunnel rather than a natural ditch. People may have dug it to reach water, hide goods or escape danger, but the earth has taken back the entrance and the shape now invites imagination more than proof.
