What is recorded here

Kenmare Bay glitters below the hill where the stone stands, but no human hand is recorded lifting it from the earth. A rectangular block of ground, not monument, it marks the edge of a field that has forgotten its fence. The bay does not reflect sky so much as breathe through it, changing the hill into a chamber of light. What is remembered is not a person or event but shape: a room without walls, made visible only when the sea rises into the air.

In rough hill pasture, on a W-facing slope, overlooking Kenmare Bay. This standing stone (0.5m x 0.43m; H 1.25m) is roughly rectangular in plan and section and is orientated NNE-SSW. There is a relict field boundary (KE109-001035-) c. 90m to the SE. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Kerry.
