What is recorded here

Cairn is a circular stone mound in County Carlow, built from granite and half-smothered in peat on a steep south-western slope. It stands among a larger group of similar mounds, suggesting the hillside once marked many lives or events rather than one. The stones may have guided people through darkness, honoured the dead, or simply claimed a place on the landscape before memory faded.

On a steep SW facing slope, a circular cairn (diam. 2.75m; H 0.8m) composed of granite stones and covered in peat. Recorded by Ó Murchú (2011, 81) as part of a Master's thesis (Survey number: C35).
