What is recorded here

Cairn is a circular mound of medium boulders, six metres across and eighty centimetres high, set on a west-facing slope in County Carlow. It belongs to a large group of similar cairns, suggesting repeated human attention across generations rather than a single accidental event. The stones may have marked a boundary, a burial, a meeting place or a warning about hidden ground.

On a W facing slope, a cicular cairn (diam. 6m; H 0.8m) of medium sized boulders. Recorded by Ó Murchú (2011, 78) as part of a Master's thesis (Survey number: C28). One of a large group of cairns (see CW026-019----). Compiled by: Claire Breen Date of upload: 08 November 2013
