What is recorded here

Cairn is one of a large group of circular stone heaps in County Carlow, each about two and a half metres across and seventy centimetres high. The distinction is a single large boulder set among smaller stones, visible enough to mark but humble enough to overlook. Ó Murchú recorded it in 2011 as survey number C20, giving shape to what the field had already suggested: a repeated gesture, not a one-off mistake.

A Neolithic cairn; date to the 4th–3rd millennia BCE. Its inclusion in a larger group suggests it may be part of a ritual or funerary landscape.
