Aodh Mac Aingil lived 1571 to 1626, taught as a scholar, wrote as a poet, and died as a bishop from Downpatrick. The blue plaque in the gardens at Saint Patrick's Centre, County Down, Ireland, keeps his name out of oblivion. Ulster History Circle recorded the words, but the true work is memory: a life measured in years, jobs and death, still spoken after four centuries.
