Indicated is a disused workhouse burial ground in County Clare, Ireland. The 1916 map marked it beside the Ennistymon workhouse, forty metres from the living line. Its stone wall still holds a small rectangle of dead people, young or old, hungry or sick, placed beyond the reach of ordinary memory.
A rectangular burial ground (c. 24m N-S; 26m E-W) defined by a stone wall. Named ‘Workhouse Burial Gd. (Disused)’ on the 1916 OS 6-inch map. Ennistymon workhouse lay 400m to the SE.
