Glen Castle (in Ruins) — Report the wrong picture

Glen Castle stands ruined in Glen South, County Clare, a tower house reduced to stones but still carrying the shape of the people who built it. Its walls may have sheltered lovers, guarded roads or simply watched the sky, and that unknown use makes the ruin more alive than a finished palace. What is left refuses to disappear, holding a chamber of memory where imagination can still move.

Glen Castle was likely built in the 16th or 17th century by a local Gaelic family, possibly of the MacNamara or O'Donovan clans, and is remembered as an example of a small defensive tower house in the western Irish landscape. Its importance lies in its association with the early medieval to early modern transition in Irish architecture and landholding.
