What is recorded here

Indicated is a crannog in County Cavan, Ireland. It has a log platform made of horizontal beams set radially and a small cairn that may have marked the floor of a hut. The structure still points back to the people who built it, even though their names and days have slipped away.

Davies (ITA Survey 1942) described the site as being of log-platform type composed of horizontal beams set radially and accompanied by a small cairn presumably representing the floor of a hut. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cavan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1995).
