Indicated is a small, low, subcircular crannog island about 26 metres across, floating 100 metres from the shoreline in Lough Oughter, County Cavan. It has remained marked on every Ordnance Survey edition, a persistent dot in open water where people may have built, hidden or simply watched the lake breathe. Its size is modest, but its distance from land gives it a deliberate aura: a room without walls, a kitchen without smoke, a chair set out for no one.
