What is recorded here

Indicated is a small oval crannog in Ballymaguaran Lough, County Cavan, Ireland, sitting about 200m from the shoreline. It measures roughly 30m WNW-ESE and 20m NNE-SSW. The place is not marked on the OS 1836 or 1876 eds. A small island that far from land suggests people went there on purpose, perhaps to live, hide, keep animals or simply enjoy the water.
